Schedule Your Inspection: Next Steps

Step 3: Schedule your Virtual Inspection

Preparing for Your Virtual Inspection

To ensure that your virtual inspection proceeds smoothly and efficiently, please follow these guidelines:

Be Available and On-Site

  • Scheduled Time: Be physically present at the inspection site during your selected inspection block. This is crucial as questions may arise or additional verification may be needed that could require your immediate attention.

Ready for a Video Call

  • Device Preparedness: Ensure you have a device capable of video calling (smartphone, tablet, or laptop with a camera) and that it is fully charged or plugged in. Install any necessary software or apps in advance as recommended in your confirmation email.
  • Internet Connectivity: Verify that your device has a stable internet connection at the inspection site to avoid any interruptions during a potential video call.

Be Prepared to Discuss Your Project

  • Questions and Updates: Have a list of questions or points you wish to discuss regarding the roofing installation. Be ready to provide updates or additional information as requested by the engineering team.
  • Documentation Ready: Keep any relevant documents or additional photos handy during the inspection time, as you might need to reference them or share additional details.

What to Expect During the Inspection

  • Initial Review: Our licensed engineers will first review the information and photos you submitted. If everything appears in order according to our initial assessment, you will receive an email approval to proceed with the next steps of your project.
  • Video Call: If the engineers determine that further verification or adjustments are needed, you will receive a video call during your inspection block. This call is essential to address any concerns directly and ensure that all standards are met.
  • Responsive Interaction: Be prepared to actively participate in the video call, showing additional angles or areas of the installation as requested by the engineer.

Post-Inspection

  • Engineering Letter: After the inspection, an engineering letter will be drafted and sent on the same business day to your permitting manager with copies to you and any necessary parties. This document is important for the continuation of your project and for meeting permit requirements.

By being prepared and present during your scheduled virtual inspection, you can help ensure a thorough and efficient review process. This readiness is key to smoothly advancing your project with minimal delays.
